IP65-Conformance
DIN EN 60529
After DIN EN 60529 the protection is indicated against penetrating from alien elements and humidity after a solid key. This key consists of the letters IP (Ingress Protection) followed by 2 numbers.
The first number stands against for the protection against the penetration of tighter bodies. The second number describes the degree of protection against penetrating from water.
The enclosure rating can be defined or seen so from the numbers:

Meaning of the numbers after DIN Below Expectationses 60529
1st number: Protection against alien elements
0 no protection
1 large alien element
(Diameter as of 50 mm)
2 medium-sized alien elements
(Diameter as of 12.5 mm,
Stretch to 80 mm)
3 small alien elements
(Diameter as of 2.5 mm)
4 grain-shaped alien elements
(Diameter as of 1 mm)
5 dust deposit
6 no dust admission
2nd number: Protection against water
0 no protection
1 protection against vertical falling drip
water
2 protection against sloping (till 15°) falling
drip water
3 protection against spraying water to 60°
against the perpendicular
4 protection against all over splashing water
4 protection against all over splashing water
under increased pressure (flood),
only apply to road vehicles
5 protection against hose water
6 protection against strong hose water
(Flood)
6 protection against strong hose water under
increased pressure (flood),
only apply to road vehicles
7 protection against temporary under-diving
8 protection against constant under-diving
9 protection against water at high pressure-
Vapour beam cleaning only apply to raod
vehicles.
Our keyboards satisfy the conditions after the enclosure rating IP65.
Meaning of these numbers:
First figure 6 definition: Protected against penetrating by dust.
Test conditions:
The check is carried out under use of a dust chamber in which Talcum powder is kept over a dust circulation pump to be in limbo. The case to be checked is built in the testing chamber and the pressure formed of the case by a vacuum pump under the surrounding atmospheric pressure according to the norm.
Acceptance conditions:
The protection is satisfactory if no dust deposit is visible within the case after completion of the check.
Second figure 5 definition: Protected against penetrating by hose water
Test conditions:
A volume current of 12.5 litres per minute is sprayed from a distance of 2.5 - 3 meters on the case over a beam jet from all directions. The testing duration is 3 minutes minimum.
Acceptance conditions:
Possible penetrated water must not be available in such a crowd that proper work of the operating supplies or the safety is impaired this. It may not be deposited at isolating parts where it could lead to leakage currents or reach voltage-carrying parts or windings which are not interpreted to the operation in a wet state. Furthermore it may not accumulate nearby the line end or penetrate into the lines if necessary.
